Not everything beautiful asks to be polished. The Asad Wooden Window is a genuine vintage architectural salvage — it wears its years like a quiet badge of honour, pale and powdery and entirely unbothered by perfection.

Salvaged from a period Indian structure, the Asad pairs solid teak framing with a diamond-pattern iron jali at its centre, a lattice that once filtered light and air through someone's everyday life. The teak has weathered to a soft, chalky ivory with traces of sage green pigment still clinging to carved scrollwork along the side columns, the header, and the ornamental base moulding. Across the top, a row of rosette carvings runs like a quiet hymn, each bloom slightly different from the next, shaped by a chisel and a steady hand rather than a machine.

The asymmetric top beam extends beyond the frame on one side, preserving the original architectural footprint of the structure it came from. This is not a flaw. It is context. It tells you this piece was part of something larger, and it carries that memory with pride.

Prop the Asad against a textured plaster wall, hang it above a console, or let it sit behind open shelving where the lattice catches afternoon light. The jali screen adds depth and shadow play that shifts through the day, making the piece feel alive in ways solid surfaces simply cannot.
