The Zerdali Wooden Painted Door Panel is like holding a miniature Rajasthani court in your hands. This compact double-panel piece, crafted from reclaimed wood, is painted with eight seated royal figures — four on each side — each one dressed in richly detailed garments of orange, red, pink, and green, adorned with jewellery and turbans, gesturing in conversation or holding offerings. The figures sit cross-legged against a warm cream ground, framed by turquoise blue borders dotted with white and blue mirror-style accents.
A carved and painted centre pillar in vivid blue and red floral motifs separates the two panels, while a red-and-gold scrolling vine border wraps the outer edges. The outer frame retains its original bare wood — pale, cracked, and beautifully worn — grounding all that colour in something raw and real. Iron pivot pins at the top and bottom tell you this was once a small working window or shrine shutter, and that history is woven into every flake of paint.
Hang the Zerdali in a living room, a study, a pooja nook, or above a console table. It is small enough to fit anywhere, vivid enough to change the entire feel of a wall.
