Ulviye Wooden Door Panel
The Ulviye Wooden Door Panel is a celebration carved in wood — vivid, layered, and unlike anything you have seen before. Crafted from reclaimed wood against a deep dark brown ground, every inch of this double-panel piece is alive with hand-carved and hand-painted detail. At the top, two winged celestial figures sit within swirling turquoise acanthus scrolls, flanking a golden arch that frames twin vertical windows. Each window is filled with miniature painted scenes and sacred symbols — elephants, horses, a seated deity, a sailboat, ceremonial vessels, bells, a sun face, lotus flowers, and flames — a visual catalogue of devotion and daily life.
The scrollwork itself is extraordinary — bold turquoise and gold acanthus leaves cascade down both sides, punctuated by pink lotuses, orange blossoms, and golden accents. At the base, two carved guard figures stand within scalloped arched niches, dressed in royal attire with swords at their sides, keeping watch as they have for generations.
An iron sliding bolt at the centre and turned pillar columns along the edges remind you that this was once a working door — likely from a temple or a noble household. Hang the Ulviye in a living room, a dining space, a pooja room, or any wall that deserves something extraordinary. It is folk art, sacred art, and decorative art all in one breath.
